"Does the image have a boundary?"

In recent years, when the body is rooted in front of the screen all the time, the profile images and the virtual avatar have become the symbolic image with the significance of identity. The Crypotovoxels exhibition series is inviting submissions for Avatars GIFs, whether you are an artist, a game developer, or an online novelist. In a virtual world, an avatar becomes a digital version of you in the form of images, data, and text.

Through Avatar GIF, we hope to explore and think freely about the boundaries of images and the dialogue between today’s society’s daily and non-daily status quo. While rationally transforming code and data into virtual images scientifically, we can also reproduce their emotions and memory images sentimentally, and we will be placed in the fluid boundary between virtual and reality, roaming in it.

Finally, we selected ten artists. The main model of the exhibition site is a spiral pixel staircase extending up and down. Ten groups of works rotate, float or stand on the staircase or in the air in an orderly manner. Ten artists have reconsidered the relationship between self and avatar through different perspectives.
