Smart light pole_Cloud sea walk

Raiden INST in collaboration with Cheese Trap, Marpi Studio, Huang Tian and Wang Tianxin, presents an exhibition of public art centred around artificial intelligence and digital ecology at Turing Square. Through three large-scale digital installations, the exhibition responds to the iterative changes in technology and explores the possibilities of technology and art in outdoor public spaces.

    Marpi Studio

    The work is a generative animation combined with touch interaction produced by Marpi Studio, where the viewer can scan a code on their mobile phone to access a “pixel palette” that corresponds to the installation’s vision, and interact with it by sliding their finger across the screen, causing ripples and changes in the content to appear.

    Marpi Studio

    Founded in 2019 by creative technologist and artist Marpi in San Francisco, it is currently based in the Bay Area of California. Their work is inspired by the complexity of the natural world and the possibility of alternative futures.

  • Turingtower_Word and Beast Land

    The work takes the evolution of Chinese characters as genes, and the character beast images gradually generated by AI predict the mythological story of the ancient Cang Jie character creation, creating a meta-cosmic writing language system. This is an exploration of the language form and meaning of text in the real world, and also an attempt to emphasize the noumenal meaning of things.

    Tian HUANG

    He is committed to the artistic practice and theoretical research in the field of digital media art. This includes the exploration of metacomunitic language forms and the search for more diverse possibilities for real language. She is currently teaching digital media at Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts.

    This is an interactive art installation that explores the connection between artificial intelligence and individual life in a poetic and philosophical way.
    The installation presents the ripple movement and color change of a hazy “sea of clouds” driven by real-time environmental data (wind speed, pressure, temperature, humidity, sunspot intensity), presenting an interactive dialogue between data and vision, man and machine.

    Tianxin WANG

    Artistic expression involves installation, painting, video and theatre performance. He is good at using image reconstruction, intelligent algorithm editing system, automated theater machine and other media to create large-scale interactive audio-visual installations, exploring and thinking about the boundary imagination between media technology, space theater and social sculpture.

    Cheese Trap

    Each person will be the protagonist of his own dream, “A Dream of the Center of the Circle” image with circular holes through three chapters – “cosmic picture”, “Space and Time corridor”, “A dream”, staring at the changes from the birth of the universe to the growth of everything.

    CheeseTrap

    Composed by an interdisciplinary team from the China Academy of Art, the work involves data generation and spatial augmented reality, exploring and attempting to break down the barriers between reality and virtual through the means of media.
