Series of Exhibition Activities
The exhibition series contains interactive AR performances, improvisational programming, lectures and roundtable discussions.
In addition to the participating artists, we have invited scholars of media history, game researchers, and industry practitioners to join us in order to present a more multi-dimensional ecological perspective and understanding of ‘spatial media’.
New New ARcade
Butterfly Alchemy
In the live performance, the physical elements from Butterfly Reflections are reassembled and condensed into a mobile interactive ARcade stall. Audiences are invited to touch various objects on the stall, and through instant multimedia feedback, they participate in a jamming session to create a unique “augmented” live experience.
During this process, audiences become creators, collectively imagining and exploring the playful possibilities of augmented reality with the interactive ARcade.

Live Coding
Mingxuan.fun/palace
Cedric Price’s Fun Palace project was one of the starting points for cyber architect Mingxuan Xie’s research. Inspired by this, Xie created mingxuan.fun/palace as a cyber space to display his works and theories. This exhibition is an offline reproduction of mingxuan.fun/palace. Just as mingxuan.fun/palace is a theatre space that can be transformed at any time to suit the performers and the audience, the artist introduces the creation process of each work while generating real-time images and sounds through multimodal AI improvisation coding, and combining them with the backstage operational data of the works in the exhibition to become a part of the show.

Round-table
Medium of production
The forum invited two guests from the fields of media history research and games to engage in a dialogue with some of the participating artists about media technology and art production. Looking at each artist, researcher and practitioner engaged in various types of ‘production’ of ‘media’, it is easy to find that their path of creation is no longer a vertical mode of production, which responds to the panoramic examination of the exhibition ‘Looking at the Phase of Media’. This responds to the exhibition’s panoramic examination of ‘looking at the phase of media’. The following is a selection of the guests who participated in the discussion, to be shared with you.
