Not About Money
“Admittedly, it was money that brought blockchain technology into the limelight.”
In 2008, the pseudonymous Satoshi Nakamoto first described the technical principles of blockchain in a white paper, perhaps as a response to the financial crisis, and thus excluded the state, banks, and fiat currencies from his alternative solution, which is a very dangerous and crazy idea for a sovereign state.
As a result, understanding “coins” as mediums for information storage can serve as an entry point into understanding the operational logic behind today’s virtual currencies and NFTs. However, there is an implicit contradiction that the value of non-fungible tokens still needs to be determined by fungible tokens.
While browsing the OpenSea website, the mentality of randomly admiring those digital objects does not last for long, and your focus is immediately drawn to the lists derived from different types of data analyses. This is our instinctive reaction when we cannot judge the value of an artwork. Consequently, NFT works do not become the equivalent of fungible tokens, and the value of digital artwork still requires extensive evaluation to confirm its value.
