THREE-BODY IMMERSIVE ART EXHIBITION
"It's an experiment in combining an art exhibition with commercial IP."
The topic of “Three-Body” coincides with Raiden INST “Youth Science and Technology Art Support Programme – Season 2” with the theme of “In Science Fiction”, in which a number of participating artists have also joined. We hope to re-imagine “sci-fi” as a verb in response to this era of intense friction between technology and human perception. High-speed technological development may seem like a precursor to the world of sci-fi, but in the increasingly comfortable comfort zone it creates, people gradually lose interest in space, preferring to experience virtual space in VR rather than real space exploration, which is fraught with danger. As Liu Cixin said at the Clarke Award winning scene in 2018, “Saying yes to the stars and the sea, but you only gave me FACEBOOK.”
C&D ·THREE-BODY IMMERSIVE ART EXHIBITION is an experiment in combining art exhibitions with commercial IPs. For a long time, there has been a gap between the experience of “immersive” and “IP exhibition” and the depth of research that art exhibitions want to express. The difference between the two is like the relationship between the “world science fiction” represented by the United States and the “orthodox literature” insisted by Europe. Therefore, from the planning to the implementation of the exhibition, it is also a process of coordinating the needs of all parties and solving the “N-body problem”, so that we have gained a lot of valuable experience.
