IMMERSIVE X ZIGAGAO

"We hope that through the presentation of scientific and technological artworks in the ancient water town of Zhujiajiao, in order to awaken the imagination of science fiction throughout the ages, and to respond to this era in which technology and human perception are undergoing a violent friction."

After last year’s “IMMERSIVE” technological art exhibition “Virtua lReality”, Raiden INST once again joins hands with SMG LIVE to bring “Galactic Telecommunications”, “Voila” and “Modular Theatre – Mayfly City” from the 16 finalists of the second season of the support scheme to the Zhujiajiao Ultra-Immersive Art Season.

The three multimedia art installations are scattered throughout the garden. The works run through ancient and modern China and abroad, integrating sci-fi themes and the Jiangnan water town, reflecting Zhu Jiajiao’s unique regional landscape and cultural heritage, breaking the conventional mode of visiting the park and watching performances, and creating a full-sensory art experience in the park.

Galaxy Telecom is an interactive installation that includes facial recognition and AI real-time imaging, stringing together the relationship between communication styles, virtual identities, and information flows from the perspective of a public installation. In the context of the exhibition, it is hoped to set up a perspective for the audience waiting for the interaction as if they were watching a theatre; the audience entering the phone booth becomes the actors and we become immersed viewers.

A futuristic art and design studio.
Sensory Atelier attempts to constantly explore and expand the boundaries of art, design and technology. We use AI generation, 3D visual effects, augmented reality, real-time dynamics and other forms of multimedia interaction, covering the media of print, fashion, film and television, and digital installations. We create new experimental digital experiences with pioneering diversity.

Voila” takes its harmonic “bridge”, meaning a bridge for communication between people. The discrepancy between the virtual world and the real world describes the current state of human relationships and the loss of life in the virtual and real world.
This work is located in the “Yin Yang Gallery” in Zhu Jia Jiao Garden. According to legend, in ancient times, the sunrise was the yang corridor and the back was the yin corridor, and it was customary for men to walk in the yang corridor and women to walk in the yin corridor. “Voila” has become a bridge that connects the two ends of the information communication, and at the same time, it is also a dialogue between the past and the present.

The work attempts to dismantle the narrative in order to construct a series of unique performance modules, forming a special performance of objects. Beyond the definable symbols and plots, we are interested in the space that is not filled by the script, when the “empty space” no longer even passes by “a person”, but only by watching, the silent object opens up a gap to be elaborated.
In this performance, each hour of the 1h cycle can be regarded as a city of mayflies, with ambiguous imagery or incidental connections flowing between the 15-minute formal performance and the 45-minute random performance. As you enter at any time, roaming, getting lost, stopping to wait or running away, all are happening, in the city of the invisible.

Modular Theatre

This is a product and design brand created by two people (Talentune, Decadence) who specialise in sound and space, algorithms and narrative respectively, and a modular narrative platform they are developing. Modular Theatre attempts to dismantle narrative structures, creating a series of performance modules with different properties and functions, and linking input, output and processing modules through embedded communication.
