Exhibits| New Art Future Vision

This is a digital township building and augmented reality based on UNITY development, which is dedicated to promoting the modernisation of small towns in China.

The “Digital Township Construction and Augmented Reality Workshop”, led by the Department of Science and Technology at the School of Experimental Art, Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, is an important part of the “Hú·shí·guāng Art Eco Site”project, which is dedicated to the modernisation and development of China’s small towns. As a sub-project of “Zhongbu Four-dimensional Wanderer” under the “Spirit of the Stone” meta-universe section, the workshop demonstrates the deep integration of new liberal arts teaching and interdisciplinary practice, and is jointly developed Sichuan Fine Arts Institute Sci-Tech Arts teaching and research office and Raiden INST, forming a joint training model of industry-academia-research. The workshop demonstrates the deep integration of new liberal arts teaching and interdisciplinary practice.

In July 2023, a team of more than 20 teachers and students from the 2020 Sichuan Fine Arts Institute Sci-tech Arts teaching and research went to Zhongbu Village in Longyou County, Zhejiang Province, to conduct a comprehensive site visit. They not only studied the village history, topography, architecture and culture, but also had in-depth communication with local villagers. In addition, the team visited the Shanghai-based company, EZXR advanced tech  AR Technology, to enhance their understanding of the practical application of augmented reality technology.

In the online primary term project, the Art Teaching and Research Department of Experimental Art and Technology of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, the Raiden INST and EZXR Advanced  Technology Company worked together to guide the creative production and programme implementation. Through this interdisciplinary collaboration, the workshop not only strengthened the teaching of the new liberal arts, but also provided students with the opportunity to practice cutting-edge technology in the industry.

The project finally landed successfully on the ground in Longyou County, demonstrating the core role of the Sci-Tech Arts teaching and research office of the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in school-enterprise co-operation and the integration of industry-academia-research into teaching and learning, and at the same time providing new perspectives on on-the-ground cultural dissemination and development, as well as enriching the experience and learning opportunities for the participants and the audience.

Exhibition Introduction

The “Digital Reverberation-2023 New Arts Future Scenario” Science and Technology Art Series is a national first-class undergraduate programme construction project of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute and the Science and Technology Art and Experimental Art disciplines. The project aims to explore the research and creation of science and technology art, the joint training of the industry and the transformation of teaching results, and to explore the educational reform of the new liberal arts and the new engineering disciplines through intensive short-term workshop courses, lectures, forums, and exhibitions, so as to promote the integration and innovation of the disciplines. The exhibition hopes that the audience will experience the “openness” of science and technology art. We hope to see a new form of art production ecology gradually taking shape, that is, the ecology of science and technology art that transcends educational barriers and combines the co-education of libraries, schools, organisations, and enterprises, which demonstrates the positive expectation and exploration of the “future scenario”.
